I am posting on behalf of my parents, two lifelong stained glass artists now in their 60s still scraping by. Their work includes some small 1" square bevel ornaments with different images etched on them. One of these ornaments had an image of a VW bug. Maybe they have sold 3 of these ornaments for very little profit. Now they have some huge law firm chasing them down asking for $5k and threatening to sue. The rub is that they had the ornament advertised on their web site with an image and the description "VOLKSWAGEN". (Its since been taken down.)

My mom sent a heart felt response via email and snail mail. Her final words sum up the letter "If there is a human being at the other end of this could you please have a heart and not ruin us over a trifle?"

and tell them your story. They can help by referring you to an attorney and possibly one who would take the case pro bono or reduced fees. They can help. At least they can give you allot of information about the law on this matter so that you won't worry too much.
